My name is Zach Orobko and I am currently a Journalism student at BCIT. Before becoming a BCIT student, I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and an extended minor in History from SFU.
The work of a journalist has always inspired me. Going to my community to share a story is an exciting prospect, because of my love for sharing stories and informing others. Sharing stories and producing news professionally allows me to transform a passion into a career.
My post-secondary journey started with one question that occupied my mind: “How does the world work?” Once I answered my question academically, I needed to think about how I could harness my curiosity and inquisitiveness to keep answering this question throughout my career. Entering the sphere of journalism is how I get to answer my question of “How does the world work?” professionally.
I will obtain my diploma in Broadcasting and Online Journalism in the spring of 2025. Once this program finishes, I look forward to beginning to share stories in politics, sports, entertainment, current events, or wherever my journey will take me.
